October Newsletter : From Loss to Possibility

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to pause and reflect on the many forms of loss people carry. At Feet of Grace Foundation, many of our beneficiaries have suffered pregnancy and infant loss. However, we also experience loss in various ways: the loss of a limb, the loss of independence, the loss of freedom, the loss of opportunities, and sometimes the loss of dreams.

But we have also seen something extraordinary: loss can give birth to incredible STRENGTH. With the proper support, courage, and determination, new stories of hope begin to unfold.

This month, we want to share two of these stories with you.

Godwin’s Story
Godwin is an orphan who faced more loss than any child should. After losing his parents, he also lost a limb. School became a distant dream, and daily life was marked by struggle.

Then came a turning point. With the Foundation’s support, Godwin received a prosthetic limb and was given the chance to return to school. Today, he walks with confidence, and he learns with hope. Gowin’s story reminds us that even in the hardest losses, new beginnings are possible.

Kausarat’s Story
Kausarat lives in Ibadan, and her journey to walking again was not an easy one. After her amputation, she could have given in to despair. Instead, she pressed forward. Even when she relocated to another state, she refused to give up on her dream of receiving a prosthetic limb. Her determination carried her through.

Today, Kausarat walks again stronger, more confident, and filled with gratitude. Her story is proof that persistence can overcome distance, and hope can outlast hardship.

These stories remind us why we do what we do. Every limb restored is beyond mobility; it is dignity regained, independence restored, and possibility reborn.

As we reflect this October, we remain deeply grateful for every donation, every prayer, and every word of encouragement. You have carried these women and children on a journey from loss to hope, and for that, we say thank you.
