Twenty-Six. Yes, 26!
That is the number of people smiling again in 2021 because generous and dedicated donors like you supported us to provide Prosthetics limbs, seed funds, education, maintenance and repairs of the prostheses.
Being able to walk with two feet means restoration of autonomy and independence for these 26 Amputees. They no longer have to depend on others to meet their daily needs and activities.
Suliat, Rashidat, Olamide, Ukoma, Mary, Kemi, Helen, Grace, and Abosede have reasons to smile and be independent again after all challenges and limitations. These nine women completed their rehabilitation and received their first prosthetic limbs from the Foundation. Lizzy got her second leg from the Foundation, four years after the first one.
Ajoke Quadri got a wheelchair and COVID relief funds last year; she is now in the final stages of her prosthetic rehabilitation process. Olasumbo is undergoing gait training with her first leg from the Foundation.
We have also facilitated the repairs of the prosthetic limb for Bisola, Ronke, Adenike, Oluwatosin, Nneoma, Catherine, Yetunde and Naomi had their limbs repaired. Yetunde, a 46-year-old woman who has been an amputee for 24 years, is still mentoring Adenike and encouraging her to see life beyond amputation
Chidiebere, Timilehin, Amaka, Shedrack, Esther and Emmanuel continued to excel in school with the scholarship provided with the support from our partners, the Rehoboth Dream Solid Foundation. They are all back in school for in-class tutoring after the COVID disruptions.
Twenty-Six unique people with names and smiling faces are grateful to you, our partners, donors, friends and families! You have left indelible positive imprints on their lives, and we cannot complete their stories without mentioning you.
We still have room for more. With your continued support, we will complete the work initiated this year and reach even more beneficiaries in 2022.
