April Newsletter : hit The Streets 2025
Happy New Month! April is here, bringing fresh beginnings, renewed hope, and an opportunity to make an impact. We are stepping into action this month with our 10th Annual Charity Walk! Can you believe we are just weeks away from the Geneva Walk on April 26, 2025? Whether you have walked with us before or are joining for the first time, this is your chance to Increase Your Capacity to Impact and Transform Lives!
Why This Walk Matters
Over the past DECADE, your generosity has helped us provide prosthetic limbs, SMEs, Scholarships, wheelchairs, and rehabilitation support to over 200 incredible women and children who refuse to let limb loss define their futures.
Last year, we gave motorised wheelchairs to two double amputees, Mrs. Odusote, a grandmother, and Quin Kadiri, and donated essential food packs to our beneficiaries.
Because of your support, the Feet of Grace Foundation is transforming lives in ways words can barely capture, not just in Nigeria but also in Uganda.
128 prosthetic limbs – giving women and children the gift of mobility and independence.
6 wheelchairs – ensuring that those who need extra support can move freely and live with dignity.
35 small business grants (SME) – empowering female amputees to rebuild their lives through entrepreneurship.
48 prosthetic repairs – keeping beneficiaries on their feet and thriving.
9 scholarships – opening doors of education and opportunities for young amputees.
Thank you! You made this happen, walking to raise funds.
Here are Five Stories of Hope and Transformation
1. Lawrence’s Journey to Mobility
Lawrence, a resilient single mother and athlete, lost her leg as a child due to an infection. Despite setbacks, she never gave up. Thanks to the support of the Feet of Grace Foundation, Lawrence has received a new prosthetic limb and is now back to competing in discus, javelin, and shotput. She is also rebuilding her frozen food business after her shop was demolished, proving that determination knows no bounds.
2. Ukamaka & Ramat’s Fresh Start
Ukamaka, a double amputee, faced unimaginable challenges after stepping on poison. With both legs amputated, she fought to rebuild her life and now works in a church in Umuahia. Ramat, a single mother of two, struggled with an ill-fitting limb that caused constant pain. Today, both women walk confidently with their new prosthetic limbs, empowering themselves and their families. Ramat has also expanded her business, learning to do pedicures and manicures to sustain herself.
3. Empowering Women Like Abigail & Folashade
Abigail, a single mother, lost her leg in an accident 24 years ago and desperately needed a prosthetic limb to regain independence. Today, she not only walks but has also received a sewing machine in 2023 to grow her bag and shoe-making business. Folashade, who suffered an amputation in 2022, was provided with a prosthetic limb and foodstuffs to start her business in Ibadan. Their renewed hope and determination exemplify the transformative power of support.
We are doing even more this year, and YOU are part of the story. Forty-five (45) women and children in Nigeria and Uganda are waiting to walk again in 2025. The twenty-seven women training in February this year are awaiting equipment to start or upgrade their small businesses.
A Call to Walk All Over the World
This year, we want to expand our reach! The Geneva Walk is on April 26, and the Lagos Walk is on July 5. The Abuja, Ibadan, Uganda, and the UK teams are getting ready, but we want to see Feet of Grace walks happening worldwide! Can you organize a walk in your city?
We are calling on coordinators in different states, cities, and countries to step up and lead a walk in their communities. You can be the reason someone walks again!
We Have A Dream
This year’s walk will not only celebrate our journey so far but also push us to do even more. Something big is coming soon. We are labouring on the birthing stool. Watch out for the news.
Easter: A Season of Renewal and Hope
As we celebrate Easter, we are reminded that renewal is possible. Just as Easter signifies new beginnings, your support helps amputees step into a new chapter of independence and purpose.
T-Shirt Reminder: Walk in Style!
The color theme for the 10th Annual Charity Walk is Green. We have a limited edition and themed T-shirt for 2025. But you can also wear previous Charity Walk shirts. If you don’t have one, you can purchase an old edition at a discounted price. Let’s show unity with the three Foundation’s colours—yellow, purple and green shirts!
