Dr. Peter Olumese

Dr. Peter Olumese is a Medical Officer at the World Health Organization (WHO), with over 24 years of experience as a paediatrician and clinical pharmacologist. Since 2001, he has worked as a medical officer for the WHO’s Global Malaria Programme Department in Geneva, primarily responsible for the third edition of the WHO Guidelines for the Treatment of Malaria. In addition, Dr. Olumese has served as Co-Chairman of the Roll Back Malaria Country and Regional Support Partners Committee since 2009.

Dr. Olumese’s expertise and dedication to his field have made him a valuable member of the global health community. He has contributed significantly to the fight against malaria, working on treatment policies and case management. His efforts have helped to improve access to effective treatment and reduce the burden of malaria in many countries.

Dr. Olumese is married to Dr. Irene Olumese and divides his time between Geneva, Switzerland, where he resides with his wife and two adult sons, and Nigeria, where he aids in the Foundation’s activities. His commitment to improving healthcare in Nigeria and other developing countries is admirable, and his work has had a positive impact on countless individuals and communities.
